Terms & Conditions
These terms govern your use of whitescreen.info. In plain terms: the tools are free to use, including at work; do not try to break the site or pass it off as your own; and the screens are a diagnostic aid rather than certified test equipment.
1. Agreement
By accessing or using whitescreen.info you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. If you are using it on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms for that organisation.
2. The service
whitescreen.info provides fullscreen colour screens and related utilities — brightness control, a custom colour picker and image download — free of charge, with no account required. We may add, change or remove features at any time, and we may make the site temporarily unavailable for maintenance.
3. Acceptable use
You may use the site for personal, educational, professional and commercial purposes: testing a customer's monitor in a repair shop, lighting a video call, or running quality checks in a workshop are all fine, and no permission or licence fee is needed.
You may not: attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or its infrastructure; interfere with its operation or place unreasonable load on it, including through automated scraping or denial-of-service activity; copy the site substantially in order to republish it as a competing service; remove or obscure attribution and legal notices; or use the site in a way that breaks applicable law.
4. Intellectual property
The design, code, written guides, illustrations and branding of whitescreen.info are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. Images you generate and download using the tool are yours to use freely, with no attribution required. Short quotations from our guides are welcome if you credit whitescreen.info and link to the page; wholesale republication of articles is not permitted without written permission.
5. Accuracy and the limits of the tool
Our guides are researched and tested carefully, but they are general information, not professional advice about your specific device. The colour screens are a practical diagnostic aid: they are useful for spotting pixel defects, dust and uniformity problems, but they are not calibrated measurement instruments and results depend on your display, its settings and your ambient lighting.
Warranty rules, pixel policies and return windows differ by manufacturer, model and country, and they change. Always confirm the current policy for your own product with the manufacturer or retailer before relying on anything you read here.
6. Repair attempts are at your own risk
Where a guide describes a technique for reviving a stuck subpixel, including physical pressure methods, you carry out that technique entirely at your own risk. Such methods can damage a display and may affect your warranty. We accept no responsibility for damage arising from following any procedure described on this site.
7. Third-party links
The site links to third-party resources for reference. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or practices. A link is not an endorsement.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The site is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that any result obtained through it will be accurate or reliable.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, devices or goodwill, arising out of your use of or inability to use the site. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your misuse of the site or your breach of these terms.
11. Privacy
Your use of the site is also governed by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
12. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms. The revised version takes effect when posted, and the date at the top of this page will change. Continued use after that point means you accept the revision.
13. Severability and entire agreement
If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full force. These terms, together with the policies linked above, make up the entire agreement between you and us regarding the site.
